Want to boost your immune system, reduce stress, increase your wisdom and energy? If you’re struggling with achieving your best self during the past month of self-isolation you might want to give meditation a try.

With gyms closed and strict social distancing measures in place it can be a challenge to maintain a healthy lifestyle while spending so much time at home in front of the computer.

Make meditation part of your daily routine. It’s easy to learn and free. When you can’t go outside go inside.

Why meditation during self-isolation?

Meditation is a deeply personal practice for self-reflection and self-improvement. No equipment is needed. All you need is your will power and a quiet place to sit down and some time which many people have plenty of right now. It’s free and easy to learn so you can get started right away.

You don’t need to hire an expensive guru to learn how to meditate. It’s simple in nature, but profound in its ability to transform your thinking, clear your mind and energize your spirit.

Many studies have been conducted on the benefits of meditation.

Consistency is key

A few minutes of meditation a day and you could be on your way to a new lifestyle.

Make it a habit that you incorporate into your day.

Try blocking time on your calendar to set aside some time each day for meditation.

Sit with your legs crossed and eyes closed before you go to bed, or first thing in the morning when you wake up. Early morning and late at night tend to be the times when things are the quietest and you can concentrate better.

Whatever time you choose to stick to, make it a habit that you do every day.

If you’re really pressed for time start with a realistic and manageable goal. Even if it means 10 or 15 minutes try to meditate every day. Over time increase the time you spend meditation up to an hour or more per day.

Make sure when you meditate you sit with good posture. Keep your back straight and breath naturally.
