Toronto – A white Ferrari 448 GTB or Spider crashed into the back of a burnt orange Nissan GT-R in Toronto on Sunday night October 21. The two supercars were surrounded by fire and tow trucks on Sheppard Ave E directly above highway 404 around 6:30 pm.
It appeared as if the two cars could have been heading north on the DVP to Hwy 404 and took the Sheppard Ave exit.
The off ramp to Sheppard Ave. East loops tightly with the single right lane merging east on Sheppard. A yield sign brings the ramp into a fourth lane on Sheppard.
Many cars heading east on Sheppard change lanes on the overpass section preparing for the exit to DVP and 401. As a result, may cars squeeze to the right lane to make the exit.
It’s likely that the two supercars were traveling at a much higher speed off the exit ramp and met the slow moving local traffic on the overpass which resulted in the can also slow down fast as a high volume of traffic merge on and off of Sheppard towards the highway on both sides of the overpass. Excessive speed was likely the cause of the crash.
The moral of the story: Don’t speed on the streets.
